PromaxBDA is a nationwide professional organization for promotion and marketing professionals working in broadcast media. It represents every major broadcast and cable organization, as well as advertising agencies and new media.

WBRC - Birmingham, Alabama
FOX6 WBRC won two gold awards at this year's PromaxBDA meeting. The first was for their "Behind the Scenes" Promotion (Long/Short Format) for the FOX6 Sideline promotion "Teamwork". FOX6 was also the recipient of the Gold Award for Image Promo with their presentation "6 Minutes".

WAFF - Huntsville, Alabama
WAFF48 was honored with the "Just Cause Award" for the WAFF48 Road to Recovery Valley Volunteer-a-thon at the PromaxBDA's annual meeting. The "Just Cause Award" is a new award that recognizes the best creative work done in collaboration/partnership with a television broadcast station and a local non-profit, charity or cause.

KPLC-TV - Lake Charles, Louisiana
KPLC-TV was recognized for their cause/community service marketing. One of the most important things we do in life is interacting with other human beings. Shouldn't improving the quality of this interaction be at the top of our agendas? KPLC-TV and the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana have a clear sense that incivility is becoming a problem that cannot be ignored. Angrily contested parking places, cellular telephones ringing everywhere, blasting stereos searing the night, offensive Internet messages, out of control bullying in the schools; pushy shoppers, surly salespeople, littering residents, needlessly honking drivers, unsupervised small children disturbing the peace in public places, stressed-out spouses; there is a definite connection between rampant incivility and a diminished quality of life.

That is why KPLC partnered with the local Community Foundation to make "Choosing Civility" its 2011 signature project. KPLC believes it is their job to increase awareness and make concerted efforts to bring about the changes so many people are ready to welcome. It is clear that improved quality of human interaction makes for a happier, healthier and more meaningful life.
