MONTGOMERY, AL - Ted Fortenberry has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager for WLBT-TV 3 and MSNewsNow, the Raycom Media owned NBC affiliate and digital news operation in Jackson, Mississippi effective January 2015. Fortenberry will replace longtime WLBT Vice President and General Manager Dan Modisett who is retiring at the end of the year.

Fortenberry has been the Vice President and General Manager of WMBF, Raycom Mediaâ€™s NBC affiliate in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina since 2007. Prior to that he served as Vice President and General Manager of KAIT. He is chairman of the board of directors for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, serves on the board of directors for the South Carolina Broadcasters Association, the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation and is a member of the Myrtle Beach Rotary Club.
Ted started his broadcasting career in 1982 in his hometown of Tylertown, Mississippi at WTYL radio. He worked for WDAM-TV, Hattiesburg, Mississippi and WLOX-TV, Biloxi, Mississippi. He also spent several years in Jackson, Mississippi as an account executive and national sales manager with Love Communications and served as president of the Jackson Mississippi Advertising Federation. Ted is a graduate of Southwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a BS Degree in Radio, Television and Film.
He is married to Candace Collins Fortenberry, originally from Grenada, Mississippi. They are the parents of two children, a daughter, Anna, 15, and a son, Grice, 13.
