Larry Silbermann Named Vice President and General Manager of WTOC

Larry Silbermann has been named Vice President and General Manager of Raycom Media’s WTOC in Savannah, Georgia. Silbermann will be replacing Scott Dempsey. Dempsey, recently accepted the Vice President and General Manager role at Raycom Media’s Charlotte, North Carolina station WBTV.

Don Richards, Raycom Media Group Vice President stated, "Larry is a leader. He has proven to be a leader in the news room as a News Director at the local level and at the corporate level as a Regional News Director for Raycom Media. I am especially excited to see this continued evolution of Larry’s career as he takes on a new challenge. I look forward to watching WTOC and Larry’s continued success in Savannah."

Silbermann was the News Director at WTOC for 10 years leading the station to news and ratings dominance during his tenure. Silbermann was named Regional News Director for Raycom Media 6 years ago, working with WBTV in Charlotte, WIS in Columbia, WCSC in Charleston and others throughout the Carolina’s and Georgia. Silbermann has lived in Savannah longer than any city in his career and proudly calls Savannah home. Silbermann is an active member in the community, currently he serves on the Board of Directors for the Savannah Jewish Educational Alliance, and is also a Rotarian and Toastmaster.

Silbermann’s career started in 1988 at WKRC in Cincinnati, Ohio, holding various news and management positions in Louisville, Kentucky at WHAS, New Orleans, Louisiana at WDSU and Portland, Oregon at KGW. Silbermann is a proud Alum of the University of Cincinnati’s College of Conservatory of Music with a degree in Broadcasting. Silbermann is also a veteran of the United States Army. Larry is married to Sally and they have a daughter, Hattie.
