Jama Davis Killingsworth has been named Vice President and General Manager of WDAM-TV, Raycom Media's NBC affiliate in Hattiesburg, MS.
Killingsworth was with WDBD FOX40 in Jackson, MS, for 12 years, the last three as General Manager and General Sales Manager. Raycom Media is in a shared services agreement with WDBD.
"Jama has done a great job at FOX40 in Jackson and has grown the station's news and commitment to the community," said Sandy Breland, Raycom Media Group Vice President. "Her tenacious spirit as well as her ties to the Pine Belt area make her the perfect choice to lead the team at WDAM."
Killingsworth's new role as WDAM's Vice President and General Manager is a homecoming of sorts to central Mississippi. She went to Wayne County High School before attending the University of Alabama where she graduated with a business degree.
In her 15 years in the industry, Killingsworth also held sales positions in Tyler and Nacogdoches, TX, and numerous leadership positions in community organizations.
"Service is a quality I believe in," said Killingsworth. "WDAM has a strong commitment to community by providing excellent news, information and advertising opportunities for the people of the Pine Belt. I am looking forward to leading the station and joining the community."
Killingsworth has two children. Killingsworth's first day at the station will be April 4th.
