Scott Thomas Named Vice President and General Manager of KFVS-TV/WQWQ-TV

Scott Thomas is now the Vice President and General Manager for KFVS12 and WQWQ-TV, Raycom Media's CBS and CW affiliates in Cape Girardeau, MO. Previously Thomas had served as the Director of Sales for KFVS12/WQWQ since March of 2015 and replaces Dave Thomason who has moved to the Raycom Media NBC affiliate in Huntsville, AL as Vice President and General Manager of WAFF.

"We did a comprehensive nation-wide search to find the right person to fill this important position," said Nick Simonette, Group Vice President for Raycom Media. "As it turned out, the right person was already here and running this fine TV station. Scott brings a wealth of experience and success to this job. He is a proven leader."

Thomas has extensive experience in television broadcasting. He has previously served as General Manager at KWES-TV, the NBC affiliate in Midland, Texas, the General Sales Manager at KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana, the General Manager at KTAL-TV in Shreveport, Louisiana, and National Sales Manager at KOLR-TV in Springfield, Missouri.

Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, with a minor in Radio & Television Management from the University of Houston. He has been married for 21 years to his wife, Sherry. They have three children. Tanner, 18, is a freshman at Southeast Missouri State University. Carter, 17, and Katelyn, 15 both attend the Jackson public schools.
